5 pinterest accounts to follow for inspiration

August 18, 2014 by Angela

Pinterest is just the best. It’s the most useful place to compile everything, get that inspiration, connect with people, and more. They’ve been going strong for four years without making a dime (until recently) – I’m oversimplifying this, but investors choose them because they know how awesome Pinterest is and that it’s not going anywhere – so they were able to keep going and even expand as a company without rolling out ads until this point. So inspiring. I’m on Pinterest every day, so I thought it was about time to share some of the most inspiring users I’ve seen. I’ve noticed that the “big pinners” tend to have their own little network, and they usually recycle 90% of the pins going around in their circle – over and over. So instead of following the biggest people I see (unless I really love their aesthetic) I go for people that simply fit my style, and almost all of those people are bloggers or artists themselves.

Follow for all things pretty…
I feel like everyone on Etsy knows Simply Hue, but did you know that Vicki has the prettiest Pinterest? She posts everything from cute animals to photography to decor. We have similar vibes and she’s always in my “repins from” highlight.
Follow for design inspiration…
Best in Los Angeles, Little Cat Design Co. has curated a Pinterest full of interesting graphics, art, and design in a palette of bright pink tones mixed in with neutral, more minimalist images. Some of my favorite boards to peruse are crafty and domestic.
For style ideas…
I find myself repinning effortless, casual street style images from Chelsea Lane almost as much as I pin images directly from her blog Zipped. Since an ensemble of slouchy sweaters, chunky scarves, leggings or skinnies, and ankle boots makes up my ideal wardrobe (one that I really miss wearing daily in the PNW), I always feel a little more inspired after pinning a good fall look. Check out her style + home boards.
To fuel your wanderlust…
I look to Kristine Woolf of Kristine Woolf Portraits for images of both the California sunshine on her beach boards and endless amounts of gorgeous scenery in her woodsy Endless Evergreen + Beautiful Autumn boards. It kiiind of fuels my constant battle between wanting to be here and wanting to be there.
For all things art + handmade…
Full of unique art + design images, I can’t get enough of Cranberry Deer (Graphic Designer)! It basically entirely uplifting and cheery photos, and I’m always discovering new artists or designers based off of the pins. She’s based in Australia and one of the few pinners I follow that feature tons of product shots – because they’re all cool, indie artists and brands. Favorite boards include DIY and home.

Pinterest is such a dangerous place, I spend way to much time there 🙂
