i’m suffering through monday right now. it’s cold and windy and my to-do is mostly the anxiety inducing stuff i put off last month (making calls, health insurance, dealing with apartment maintenance people. basic adulting, ya know? i don’t like it, I DON’T!) so i’m avoiding it a little longer with today’s journal entry, about big ideas. the kind that take hold and motivate, and maybe even change things. when you basically have a thought like, “the world needs ___”, and just as quickly realize YOU can provide it. i had an idea like that recently, so i dedicated a few pages to working it out and giving it the time it deserved, whether or not i go for it in the end (though all signs say yes). Queen Bee Trading Co skincare from Etsy
over the past few years i’ve transitioned to using mostly natural skincare and beauty products, and while it was a struggle to find product with minimal ingredients at first, i’m so grateful for the amazing brands that have become staples in my routine! one of my favorite places to experiment with new products is etsy (for just about anything). although you need to always read your labels and check your sources when you buy from anywhere, at least you can know that etsy is a place that many small businesses and ethical companies thrive. one of my all time favorite shops is queen bee trading co from here in the US.

What to do on a rainy day in LA
Rainy days in Los Angeles are the best. They’re so rare that I basically have decided that I’ll always drop what I’m doing to celebrate. Best spots to stop in Big Sur
We took a quick road trip to San Francisco during Christmas weekend (the best give we could give ourselves… a weekend along the coast!) and drove up through Big Sur, which I’d been dreaming about since the last time we went to Big Sur, a year before. Now that we’ve stopped several places on our visits, I thought it was about time to share my favorite ways to spend the afternoon in one of the most special places on Earth (indisputable fact, btw)… [Read more…] about Best spots to stop in Big Sur
How to make the most of January
Maybe you like January. It’s a fresh start. The stress of the holidays are over. Maybe you celebrate important birthdays this month. There are lots of reasons. Though January is special because we have an anniversary to celebrate and also because I love making plans for the year, this isn’t my favorite month. In college it didn’t have the newness of fall or the hope of summer break that spring quarter had. Holidays don’t stress me out, I just love them, so in January, all the crafting and prep that led up, over. The weather isn’t great though now that I’m in LA I love the coolness and revel in not needing the AC. For a lot of reason January (and February while we’re at it) can bum a girl out. I decided to try to turn all that around in 2016. And half way through the month seemed like good a time as any to get started… Ha. Now, ideas, for those of you in the same boat.
