Etsy wishlist spring pastels

May 14, 2014 by Angela

scarf / journal / bracelet / coin purse / iphone case / sunglasses

Lavender, gold, pink, and hints of yellow are dominating my Etsy wishlist this month. It’s almost 100 degrees this week in Los Angeles, so a new pair of sunglasses is a must. I never knew how much I wanted new ones until I saw this Etsy shop (above). All those retro shapes… Amazing. And my phone could use a little protection, too, last time it was this hot I accidentally left my phone out too long at the beach and the battery almost exploded. No joke! I had to buy a new one. What’s on your wishlist this month? Follow me on Etsy for more finds!

Birthday wishlist

March 24, 2014 by Angela

My birthday is in less than two weeks so naturally my urge to shop is growing exponentially. I satisfied some of it by snagging myself some treats in the form of dresses and jewelry at the flea market yesterday but i’m going to be in my mid-twenties… let me say that again… MID-TWENTIES (it’s a big deal!) which has got me going back and forth quite a bit emotionally, and I think retail therapy is the temporary fix I need. Suddenly I want to change my wardrobe style completely and start from scratch. Do you ever get that way? Anyway, here’s what’s on my internet birthday wishlist, and expanding by the minute…

Foldover crossbody bag from madebyhank, $68 — could you ask for a cuter casual bag?

Crystal bomb necklace by Debra Baxter for Beklina. I’ve been looking for nice, high quality, raw crystal or mineral necklaces forever and knew these were perfect. And they’re on sale for an extra 30% off. I’d have already bought it for myself if I didn’t realize that the silver one is the only one left in stock! Too good to be true, I really wanted a brass chain. 🙁

I want to redo just about everything in my apartment right now, but I’d settle for vintage tropical decor. Love, love, love this pineapple from The White Pepper, and can’t get enough of their wonderful shop.

Art yarn. Have you ever used art yarn? I’m completely in love with this handspun yarn by Yarn Mantra on flickr. They haven’t uploaded anything on Etsy in awhile but if this was listed–it would be mine. Head on over to flickr for more OOAK yarn. Basically, moral of the story: you always want what you can’t have.

What’s on your wishlist lately?

Etsy wishlist

March 14, 2014 by Angela

My birthday is coming up…. Just sayin’.
1. Hand dyed yarn by ShornFibers, $17
2. Fabric necklace by Homako, $58
3. Upcycled flats by TheWhiteRibbon, $85
4. Lip butter by HerbivoreBotanicals, $28
5. Gold Print by PuddleduckPaperCo, $15, or any of the cute stationery in shop!
6. Hand dyed purse by ArrowsDesign, $75, who I’ve long been obsessed with.
Happy Friday! I’m spending the weekend in Seattle, which I couldn’t be looking forward to ANY more! I haven’t been home since I moved to California 9 months ago. It’s a quick trip, and all I know for sure is that I’ll be drinking lots of coffee and hanging with my family.

What’s on your personal wishlist lately?

DIY garlands + vintage clothes

March 10, 2014 by Angela

If you’ve stopped by E. Magnolia Vintage any time in the last week, you’ll notice that our shop looks amazingly different than it used to! While it’s always fun to find new places to shoot our vintage clothes, my past-roommate/friend/co-owner Charity and I both had a vision for our shop that can be summed up in just a few words: clean + pretty with a creative (and in our case, DIY) flair. I visited her in San Diego a few weekends ago to bring our vision to life, and here’s our exciting new look:
I’m beyond happy to say that some of our new pieces are going quick and I’m even more excited to say that we’re still not done! This whole month we’ll be getting our shop up to speed, and soon we’ll need to have another photo shoot. There’s even talk of adding a few handmade goods into the mix–all in the same sweet, romantic, and carefree style of the clothes we choose.

If you’re wondering how to DIY your own photo shoot, head over to West Coast Whimsy, where Charity wrote about our process in turning her living room into a one-day creative studio. Check back this week for the how-to on this tissue paper tassel garden–it’s super easy & I’ll be making another one for my apartment.

Have you turned your home into a makeshift photo studio before? I’d love to hear about it 🙂

All photos by Charity or I. Shop East Magnolia Vintage here.
