DIY map printed book covers

March 19, 2014 by Angela

I recently rearranged my bookshelf and noticed a turquoise-y theme… Funny how no matter how you try to emulate a certain style your own personal aesthetic comes out in some way or another. I thrifted a vintage atlas a few weeks ago and got to making book covers for the less pretty of my collected books. Just fold the paper over each flap, leaving enough room to fold a little pocket for the book to slip over, and cut to size!

This is a really good idea. Your books definitely look cohesive now. Lately, I’ve been taking pages out of old maps and the like and have been making my own envelopes. I’ve been a bit of a fiend about it lately, haha.

I bet those look great! I used to make envelopes all the time—I just might have to use my remaining maps to make some more.

I have a few maps on my wall too! I actually got one that I think is supposed to be wrapping paper from Paper Source–just pinned that right to the wall 🙂
