Just a peek at my newest little DIY. This isn’t so much a tutorial – I imagine you’ve used a paintbrush before! – but some notes on painting your own recycled mini succulent planters…
1. For gold or other metallic paint – lay it on thick. You’ll do multiple coats.
2. Pick these up at your local thrift store. There are so many unused pots and vases floating around – no need to contribute more.
3. I did try the two-toned pots, but I found a more solid look tied everything together in my main room and kitchen. There are a lot of ideas for painted pots out there, though.
I overstuffed mine with my first ever house plants!
What have you made lately?

Oh! It looks like you have a woodsy little view from your balcony too, yay! I love succulents, and always intend to do more with them… love your gold pots. 😉

Oo..I like the gold. This gives me some ideas to paint other colors to the pots that I have.

We tried really hard to find used pots at thrift stores before eventually giving up and just going to Lowe’s. You’d be amazed at what you CANNOT find in thrift stores in our area. However, if you want a crappy broken alarm clock from the 90s, we’re fully stocked. Haha.
The gold looks great! 🙂

It’s amazing how much you don’t find at a thrift store when you’re looking! I spent so long looking for simple containers, clothes hangers, and other common household items and ended up at Target! Then other times you find all sorts of great things. So unpredictable 🙂
