Before this recipe, I hadn’t made homemade popsicles since I was about 8 years old and poured juice into ice trays and froze with toothpicks. That was the extent of my DIY dessert, and the extent of the summer desserts my mother made. The fact that these turned out is quite the win. Like my watermelon mojito recipe, I looked up a lot of very basic DIY popsicle tutorials and ended up winging it. Strawberries happened to be 97 cents a package and I had yogurt on hand, so this is what I ended up with.
Do you know how difficult it is to actually find good popsicle molds? I went to three stores to get those iconic molds and all I found were cutesy shapes and wacky colors. Needless to say I didn’t end up with popsicles on the Fourth of July. Yellow Independence Day treats? No thanks!
To make 6 of these popsicles, all you need to do is cut the stems off of a pound of strawberries, throw them in a blender, and puree with as much plain or vanilla yogurt as you’d like. Squeeze in a little fresh lime juice too. Freeze for a few hours then release from molds when ready to enjoy by running them under warm water. Be sure to take your photos before they really start to melt!
I think I’m going to go with a different fruit next. Any recommendations?

Hey lady! These look delish! I went to the dollar store looking for popsicle molds earlier this summer and couldn’t find them… I swear I’ve seen them there before but oh well… where did you finally get yours? I’ve been thinking about trying to make my own popsicles since it would be healthier than the ice cream habit my hubby has… LOL… So it seems I’ve quietly started blogging again, just wanted to stop by and say hello!!! xoxo

Hey! Haven’t heard from you in forever! Loving all the flower photos on your website right now. Hope your summer is going well!
I got these ones at Marshall’s – it’s crazy, there were really simple ones like I wanted at a kitchen store but they were $15!

p.s. This summer I’ve had quite an affection to fresh pineapple… what about pineapple and mango… or something? 🙂

These look delicious! I have to try them but I don’t know if I’ll be able to find the molds. You’d think they’ll be easily found considering its the summer.
Also, were you in San Francisco last week? I thought you lived in LA. I was there too! What a coincidence.

Oh, that’s funny! Yeah, it’s a 6 hour drive from LA so my boyfriend and I went up for the weekend. Long drive but totally worth it, so fun! Did you have a good trip?
