I am finally settled in with my boyfriend in our new apartment in California! It’s such a drastic change I haven’t even had time to react! But things are going so well. Back in April I wrote about how sometimes you don’t want to talk about what you’re doing for fear things will come crashing down — I had a lot of disappointments in the past year since graduating college & once again I find myself almost whispering my successes when my friends ask how I am — I don’t want to jinx it! Yes, I’m a little superstitious. By little I mean a lot
So yes, I have to admit — things are going very well! I have lots of pictures to share. But going through my camera I dug up these final photos of Seattle’s Pike Place Market & my packing process in Washington before leaving it all behind.
So beautiful & bright! I knew if I was going to move I’d better do it quick because western Washington in the summer is close to perfection & I knew I’d change my mind… only to be disappointed when the dreary winter months set in again. Today, it almost sprinkled — gone as soon as it came — and I was back at home again.
Left my inspiration board behind — and can’t wait to begin building a gallery wall in my living room. I’m SO ready to share photos of our place, but will wait until it’s a bit more complete. We’ve come across a few great finds for our place, spent way too much money, and bickered over style (he likes leather and dark wood, which I loathe, I like both modern industrial and shabby cute, it never ends), and finally agreed on the staples, creating a living space that’s bright and a little beachy. We’re happy to call California home now.
I don’t know why I snapped this photo of my horrible packing skills — look at that can, empty except for a stone… but the quote on that newspaper is, “What do you want to be when you grow up? Ok, go.” And that’s what I did.
I’m so glad that the move went well and things are going good! I can’t wait to see photos of your new space.
(Also, totally love that quote from the newspaper!)
I’m so glad you are settling in nicely Angela! Can’t wait to see pics of your new place!! 🙂 xo!
