My most recent farmers market bouquet is made up of two favorites: dahlias + peonies. Dahlias are difficult to care for and my air plants are hardly thriving so I think I will wait until I know a little more about floral before I go with them again, but aren’t they beautiful? I decided along with #flowerfriday I’d share some links like last week, that inspired and intrigued over the last few days.
These two make a beautiful pair, I’d say! Here’s what I read this week…
1. Design*Sponge put up a DIY Punched Copper Votive tutorial and it looks just easy enough to pull off during a busy week when I could use a break in the action. I love the smell of the votives from this Etsy shop but usually don’t have a place to put them because all of my candles are ready-poured in their jars. Perfect solution.
2. I checked out Rachel’s blog Nourish this week and discovered her mid-year goals check in. Using this as my journal prompt for the day, I completed an evaluation of my goals based on her recognize, reevaluate, and restore system. Looking back on this blog post on my 2015 plans, I realized two things: I have completed hardly any of them, unless they were very concrete–I tend to do the easiest things first, allowing anxiety for the larger plans and goals to hold me back–and, that none of my 2015 plans are unattainable. I could’ve put most of them in place within the first six months of the year, even. That really put things in perspective for me… But more on that later.
3. I love dinner party ideas like these Moroccan themed ones from Earnest. You don’t need much to set up a pretty tablescape but layers of texture, pattern, and a few themed details certainly make it stand out for your guests.
This isn’t the usual low-key Friday that I look forward to. With a busy weekend (a friend is coming to town and there’s Renegade craft fair and more work and more errands), I can’t really pick and choose my priorities and go on an adventure like I do… It all must be done. Starting with a latte and the latest edition of Conscious, as told by my Instagram. What are you up to this weekend?
