over the holidays, we went on my favorite road trip ever, up through big sur to san francisco. we’re going to SF again in the spring and i cannot wait. like i’ve written about here and here, san francisco is my city. it’s the one. i love my home, seattle. but SF? a whole nother level. anyway, i never blogged the facades i captured on my iphone over a month ago, and as you can imagine, there were many. not to mention gorgeous shops to peruse and lots of coffee to be had.
we stopped into artis coffee one morning before adventuring and i fell in love with hayes valley, just like every other neighborhood. we had stayed nearby before but somehow never happened upon this street!
the character. i cannot contain myself.
we also popped by general store while waiting for our lunch on our last day. i had been to the one in LA so it was a familiar space. this was actually our first day in quite some time that it had been properly overcast, and the lighting in this space was magic:
could sit by this window all day!
can’t wait for another too-quick meeting in this city. i always wonder if and when i’ll get my true san francisco experience. but then i wonder, maybe i don’t want it. maybe these visits hold the magic instead – we all know the shift that comes with knowing a place all too well, perhaps it’s better at a distance.
