my move into conscious clothing has been difficult the last year. my clothes have always come from thrift shops, but thrifting in LA isn’t like the PNW (you have to really commit to going far outside the city to snag deals without the markups), and after taking a pause from selling on Etsy, i’ve been less inspired by vintage, just because i don’t see it everyday and it’s quite difficult to find the most wearable pieces. as i move toward slow fashion, i still want to be creative with my style. i think being conscious and sustainable must always be balanced with creative expression and my biggest thing right now is that it IS possible, and hey, maybe even on a budget too. Conscious closet: end of summer neutrals
Labor Day is on Monday and as much as I love that it’s a symbol of a brand new season, my favorite season (I don’t pick favorites often, but when I do, it’s about the weather), I just can’t start posting about fall fashion yet. It’s been a HOT summer in Los Angeles. We finally had a bit of cooler weather this week and all I wanted to do was be outside and enjoy it. Funny how when I lived in Washington it was sunny weather that got me outdoors and now it’s the opposite. Such is life.
